Tree-lined Gainesville-Hawthorn trail is 16 miles of pure natural bliss, a fun and lightly challenging trail that cuts through the Payne’s Prairie Preserve State Park, one of the most beautiful in all of Southeast America. Wind your way through untouched natural beauty, filled with the untamed wilds and raw natural beauty that used to cover this region. Be sure to make a pit stop at La Chua trail, a nearly 2-mile hike into the preserve that will put you in awe at the power and beauty surrounding you. Keep an eye out for gators, bison, and even wild horses that dot the nature preserve, a uniquely gorgeous natural habitat.
